How to connect and use your Wipöp POS: Guide for new customers

Do you have doubts about your point of sale (POS) terminal? Don’t worry, here’s everything you need to know to start receiving payments quickly and easily

Advantages of using Wipöp POS:

  • Accepts multiple payment methods: card, smartphone and smart watch.
  • Everything you need and more: send payment links, manage tips and allow your customers to pay in other currencies.
  • Technical support: assistance available when you need it.

Connecting your POS

  1. Unpacking and preparation: When you receive your POS, make sure that all components are in the box: terminal, charger and cables. Place the POS in an accessible and secure location.
  2. Network connection: your POS can connect via Wi-Fi and 4G GPRS. If you connect via your establishment’s Wi-Fi, select your network from the terminal’s menu and enter the password. For 4G GPRS, insert the SIM card into the device and enter the card details; you will then be able to charge from anywhere you have GPRS coverage.
  3. Initial configuration: Turn on the POS and follow the instructions to configure it. This includes entering your trade number and other necessary data. If you have any questions, you can consult the manual that comes with the device or contact our support team directly.

Let’s get to work

  1. Making a sale: To accept a payment, select the amount at the POS. Then, ask the customer to swipe their card or use their mobile device. The terminal will display clear instructions to complete the transaction.
  2. Payment verification: Once the payment has been processed, the POS will print a receipt, with the option of a copy for the customer. If necessary, make sure to get the customer’s signature. You can also send the receipt by email if your customer prefers.
  3. Sales enquiry: Access your bank’s website to review transactions. You will be able to see a summary and track your income. This will help you to manage your business better.

Innovation

  1. Currency is no problem: it includes the DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion) payment service. With this system, customers can choose to pay in their own currency, but you will always be paid in euros.
  2. Extra paid option: The “Payment Link” service is a very useful resource. Simply enter the customer’s telephone number or email address along with the details of the transaction into your POS. The purchaser will receive an email, as chosen, from which they can make the payment by credit card.
